The fee schedule

Updated July 11, 2026

The Fee schedule section of the Vault is the list your agency fee gets pulled from on every priced proposal. Unlike the appetite table, it has no header row in the app, its rows are simply a program description paired with the fee that goes with it.

A footnote under the table spells out exactly what it is for: These are the fees the engine stamps. Change them here and the next proposal uses the new numbers.

#Keyed by program type

Each fee line is written against a program type: something like a surplus lines package, an admitted package, or a monoline auto policy. When you build a priced proposal, ProClose looks at the parsed quote to figure out which kind of program it is, then finds the fee line in your schedule that matches. If nothing matches a specific program, it falls back to the first fee line on the schedule that has an agency fee on it at all.

The engine stamps whatever that matched line says, exactly. If a fee line says there is no agency fee for that program type, none gets added. If it names a dollar amount, that amount becomes a real line item on the proposal's premium, added into the total the client sees.

Note

Note: the specific dollar figures on this page are examples from the fictional Summit Commercial Insurance demo vault, shown only to illustrate that the schedule is configurable. Your fee schedule drives what actually gets stamped on your own proposals.

For instance, the demo schedule includes a line for a surplus lines package carrying both a policy fee and a separate agency fee, a line for an admitted package carrying just an agency fee, and a line for monoline auto carrying no agency fee at all. Three different program types, three different outcomes, each one a plain example of what a fee line can express.

#Fees are never forgotten

Because the fee is stamped automatically from whatever is on the schedule at build time, it never depends on someone remembering to type it in. That is worth as much for consistency across your agency as it is for your own bottom line. See Premium and agency fees for how the stamped fee shows up on the deck itself, and Edit fees and totals for adjusting a fee after a proposal has already been built.

#Editing changes what gets stamped from then on

The fee schedule is owner-editable, the same as the rest of the Vault. Whatever you change here takes effect on the next proposal you build. It does not reach back and change a proposal you already built and saved. See Edit the Vault for how to add, edit, or delete a fee line.
