Client links and view tracking

Copy client link creates a real, live URL that opens the deck in a browser for whoever you send it to, no ProClose account or login required on their end. Views are tracked and show up on the Proposals page.

#Where to find it

Copy client link sits in two places, both doing the same thing: as a button on a proposal's expanded row on the Proposals page, and as a row under Download in the deck's side panel. Click it and ProClose copies a link to your clipboard shaped like https://<your-workspace>/p/<token>, and confirms with a toast: Client link copied. Opens the deck read only. Views show up here.

Click it again later on the same proposal and you get the exact same link back. The token is generated once and reused, so copying it a second time never invalidates a link you already handed a client.

#What the client sees

The link opens a read-only version of the deck in your agency's brand, colors, fonts, and logo, exactly as the proposal reads, with the carrier still masked the same as everywhere else. The client's view is deliberately narrow: they can move through slides, use Present for full screen, and Print or Export PDF (slides) to save a copy. Everything else, editing, the outline, saving, sharing, emailing, and the other export formats, is not there. There is no login screen and no app shell around it, just the deck.

#View tracking

Every time the link is opened, ProClose counts it. Back on the Proposals page, expand that proposal's row and the Client link section shows the count and when it was last viewed, for example Client views: 3, last Aug 18. Before the link has ever been created, this section does not show at all, there is nothing to report yet, rather than a row of zeros that looks the same as a client who has not opened it.

Opening the link also logs a single "Client viewed the proposal" entry to your workspace's activity feed, throttled to once per hour per link so a client refreshing the page does not flood your feed with repeat entries. The view count itself still counts every open.

The link always points at whatever payload is currently saved on that proposal. If you edit the deck and click Save again, the next time the client opens their link they see the updated version.
