Quickstart: your first proposal
Updated July 11, 2026
This is the fastest path from a cold sign-in to a finished, exported deck. Every step links to the deep article if you want more detail.
#1. Sign in
Click one of the two demo account buttons on the sign-in screen, Alex Carter (agency owner) or Jordan Reyes (producer). Either works for this walkthrough. See Signing in and user roles.
#2. Open New proposal
From the sidebar, click New proposal. You will land on the intake page, subtitled "Pull the call, pull the client, drop the policy." See Finding your way around.
#3. Drop a quote, or click a sample
If you have a carrier quote PDF handy, drag it onto the drop zone, or click it and pick the file. If you do not, the page offers two sample buttons that build a full demo deck instantly, no PDF required: Sample: new business (a new-business risk for Northgate Holdings LLC) and Sample: renewal with comparison (a renewal for Riverbend Storage LLC, which also demonstrates the side-by-side comparison). See Build a proposal from a carrier quote and Try it with the sample proposals.
If you want to see the real parser at work rather than a seeded sample, the drop zone also links two real, downloadable sample PDFs you can drop straight back in. See How ProClose reads a PDF.
#4. Review the options step
Before the deck builds, a step titled "Your vault weighed in. Anything else?" shows you what your Vault knows about this risk (a market match, if one exists) and a list of anything flagged by the coverage gap scan. Check the boxes for anything you want to appear on a Recommendations slide, then click "Looks good, build the deck." See The pre-build options step.
#5. Build
Click Build proposal. A short animated checklist plays while the deck assembles, reading the documents, hiding the carrier name, adding your agency fee, running the coverage gap scan, then the finished deck opens in the presenter view. See The three ways a proposal gets built.
#6. Make one edit
Click Edit in the toolbar to enter edit mode (the button relabels itself Editing). Click any headline, table cell, or line item and type to change it directly on the slide. When you are done, click Done or click Edit again to exit. See Edit slides on the canvas.
#7. Print to PDF
Open Download / Export ▾ in the toolbar and choose Print or Export PDF (slides). Either opens your browser's native print dialog, where you can save as a PDF for an email attachment or an in-person leave-behind. See Print or save as PDF.
That is a complete proposal, start to finish. From here, explore Building proposals for the two-PDF comparison flow, or The proposal deck for a slide-by-slide tour of what you just built.
