Edit the Vault

Updated August 14, 2026

Editing the Vault is an agency owner privilege. This article covers how owner editing works, and what a producer sees when they open the same page.

#Turning on edit mode

At the top of the Vault page, the agency owner sees an Edit vault button. Clicking it turns on edit mode across every section, appetite, fees, standards, and vendors, and the button itself relabels to Done, save the vault. Click it again when you are finished to save your changes and turn edit mode back off.

#Editing cells in place

While edit mode is on, every cell in every table (and every standard in the list) becomes directly editable. Click into a cell, change what it says, and move on. There is no separate save-per-row step, your changes are held as you go and written once you click Done, save the vault.

#Adding rows

Each section has its own add-row button, visible only in edit mode:

  • + Add a class on the appetite table
  • + Add a fee line on the fee schedule
  • + Add a standard on coverage standards
  • + Add a vendor on preferred vendors

Clicking one seeds a blank new row (or a placeholder standard, "New standard, click to edit.") ready for you to fill in.

#Deleting rows

In edit mode, every row across appetite, fees, vendors, and standards shows a small delete control. Click it to remove that row. A blank row you added and decided not to use gets cleaned up automatically the next time you save, you do not need to delete it by hand unless you want it gone immediately.

#Saving

Click Done, save the vault to write your changes and turn off edit mode. You will see a confirmation that the Vault was saved and that the engine uses these rules on the next build, along with an updated "Updated" timestamp at the top of the page. From that point forward, every new proposal you build reads the Vault as you just left it.

#Version history

Every save is protected automatically. Before your changes overwrite what was there, the server snapshots the version being replaced, so nothing you save can permanently erase what came before it. Click History at the top of the Vault page, next to Edit vault (owner only, same as everything else here), to see a list of earlier versions, each showing who saved it, when, and a short summary of its contents, and to restore any one of them if a save turns out to be wrong. See Reset or recover the Vault for the full walkthrough of restoring a version.

#What producers see

A producer opening the Vault page does not see the Edit vault button or the Add a document control at all, they are hidden entirely rather than shown disabled. In their place is a Read only pill. Every section is still fully visible, a producer can read the whole appetite guide, fee schedule, standards, and vendor list, they simply cannot change any of it.

If a producer somehow reaches an edit action anyway, the app responds with a plain toast: Only the agency owner edits the vault. (Feeding the Vault a document as a non-owner shows the same idea in its own toast, Only the agency owner updates the vault.) Either way, the message is the same: one person sets the rules for the whole agency, and everyone else builds against them.
