#Does AI read my documents?
No. ProClose's core is a deterministic parser, meaning fixed rules read the carrier PDF, not a language model. The parsing runs entirely in your browser, so the document itself is never uploaded anywhere. See How ProClose reads a PDF for how the extraction actually works.
#Can it read scanned PDFs?
Not yet. The parser reads the text layer of a PDF. A scanned or image-only PDF has no text layer for it to read, so extraction fails and the app falls back to the sample flow. See Fix parsing problems for the exact failure message and what to try instead.
#Why is the carrier hidden on the deck?
By rule. Every client-facing slide, PDF export, and download shows the market as an A-rated specialty company instead of naming the carrier. This is deliberate: it protects your market relationships even after a proposal gets forwarded around. You still see the real carrier name in your own vault market check while building. #Can producers edit the Vault?
No. Vault editing is owner-only. A producer sees a Read only pill instead of the Edit vault and Add a document buttons, and any attempt to edit is blocked with a toast telling them only the agency owner can make the change. See Edit the Vault for the full owner workflow.
#Can a fee get skipped?
No. The agency fee is stamped automatically from your Vault's Fee schedule on every priced build, matched by the quote's program type (surplus, admitted, or monoline auto). It is added as a real line item and summed into the total before the deck is ever shown. The premium slide carries a standing assurance line: "Your policy fee and agency fee are added automatically. #Where did my saved proposal go after a refresh?
Nowhere, it should still be there. Clicking Save writes the proposal to your workspace's own server, scoped to your tenant and to you as the owner, so a refresh, a closed tab, or a sign-out and sign-back-in does not lose it. Open Proposals in the sidebar and it is in the list. If a save could not reach the server at the time (you were offline, for instance), the toast says so plainly, Saved locally, and that one proposal lives only in your browser until you save it again once you are back online. #Can I undo an edit?
Yes, on the canvas. The canvas editor keeps a deep undo history: every change you make while in Editing mode gets a snapshot first, so clicking Undo (or Cmd/Ctrl+Z) steps back through your recent edits. If there is nothing left to undo, it tells you so instead of doing nothing silently. See Edit slides on the canvas.
#Does the Vault persist across a refresh?
Yes, the same as your proposals. The Vault saves to your workspace's own server every time the agency owner clicks Done, save the vault, so your appetite guide, fee schedule, standards, and vendors survive a reload, a closed tab, and a sign-out. Every save also keeps the version it replaced, so a bad edit or an accidental delete is never permanent. #Why does a failed parse show me someone else's proposal?
When the parser cannot extract enough fields from a dropped PDF, it does not show a blank error screen. It falls back to the seeded sample proposal so you can still see how a deck looks, and logs the failure in your activity feed. It is a fallback, not your data. #What actually leaves my machine?
Not much, and nothing to a third party except for one thing. Your quote and policy PDFs are parsed entirely in your browser and never uploaded anywhere. Your Vault, your saved proposals, and your brand settings are saved to your own workspace's server so they survive a reload and follow you across devices, but that server is yours, not a third party's. The one thing that reaches an outside service at all is call audio and its transcript, routed through your own server to the transcription and insight-extraction services, and only when you pull and analyze a recorded call.
