Save a draft and the pipeline stages

Updated August 14, 2026

A quote often does not land the moment you get off the phone. Save draft, on the New proposal page, exists so a call you have already analyzed, a client you have already found, or research you have already run is never thrown away just because a carrier has not come back with numbers yet.

#When you can use it

Save draft turns on the moment there is anything worth saving: a pulled call, a found client, dropped files, a completed call analysis, or a property research packet, in any combination. You do not need a built deck first. This is different from the plain Save button in the presenter toolbar, which only exists once a deck has actually been built; Save draft works earlier, at any point in the intake flow.

#What gets saved

Clicking Save draft writes whatever currently exists to your Proposals list: the call transcript and its extracted insights if you pulled one, the agent name and CRM search you typed, the property research packet if you ran one, and the built deck and its analysis if one exists yet. All of it goes to your workspace's own server the same way a fully saved proposal does, so it survives a reload, a closed tab, or picking it back up on a different day.

#Reopening a draft

Click a draft's row on the Proposals list to reopen it. If it already has a built deck, it opens straight into the presenter, exactly like any other saved proposal. If it does not, a call analyzed but no quote built yet, reopening returns you to the New proposal page instead of an empty presenter: the call notes, the CRM query, the agent name, and any research packet are all restored, with a toast confirming "Picked up where you left off." Nothing gets re-transcribed and nothing gets re-billed, since the call's transcript and insights were saved inside the draft itself, not re-fetched.

#The pipeline stages

The Proposals list shows a status pill on every row. Save draft works out which one to use by reading what actually exists at the moment you click it, most-advanced first, so the pill is never something you have to remember to set by hand:

  1. Quoted. A fully priced deck exists, parsed from a real quote, entered by hand, or a sample.
  2. Proposal built. A deck exists but carries no premium, which today means a discovery brief built from a call alone.
  3. Gathering info. Property research has been run, but no deck exists yet.
  4. Call analyzed. A call has been pulled and analyzed, with no research and no deck yet.
  5. Draft. None of the above, typically files dropped but nothing built or analyzed yet.

The list also recognizes three further labels, Out to market, Proposal sent, and Bound, for later stages of a deal. Save draft's own automatic inference does not currently set any of these three; they are part of the pill vocabulary the list knows how to display, not something this release writes for you on its own. Any status the list does not recognize at all, including one saved by an older version of the app, falls back to showing as Draft rather than an error.

One more thing worth knowing: the plain Save button in the presenter toolbar always files a proposal as Draft, regardless of whether it is priced. Only Save draft, from the New proposal page, computes the smarter stage above. If a finished, fully priced deck shows as Draft on your Proposals list, that usually means it was saved with Save rather than Save draft.
